Haitian Voodoo Ceremonies

A pilgrim hods a root and fresh herbs up while praying to a lwa - or spirit - during sunrise voodou ritual at Bord de Mer de Limonade, on the north coast of Haiti on July 25, 2008. After renewing their faith in the mud pit at Plaine du Nord on the days prior, pilgrims migrate to the nearby water, their faith renewed.
